Sheriff’s Dept. Employee Exposes Child Sexual Harassment Cover-up

We received information and guidance from a Sheriff’s office employee of a cover-up involving incidents with an adult male from Coldwater and multiple teenage girls!

In 2016 Jared Springer, of Coldwater, was accused by a teenage girl of inappropriate conduct. Springer is well connected in the inner circle of Mercer County’s legal system (click here to see document). Amy Ikerd from the prosecutor’s office states that “everyone at their office has a conflict with Springer being on some committee with him.”

In the initial complaint filed by the victim, she says her inner thigh was touched and along with other inappropriate touching. In addition, Mr. Springer requested inappropriate texts and pictures from the victim, but the physical contact warranted a much more severe charge than what was given.

After the story came out other victims came forward (click here to see document). Kip Wright from The Wright State Lake Campus gives names of other victims who have come forward. In total 6 underage girls came forward to report inappropriate conduct.

Mercer County has a mess on their hands. One of their own, the well-connected Mr. Springer, has multiple underage girls complaining about his conduct. The complaints are about unwanted physical contact and touching. To bury this story and protect one of their own the Mercer County Mafia brings in John Hatcher Van Wert, Law Director. In internal emails, Matt Fox and Detective Doug Timmerman instruct John Hatcher to brush this incident under the rug. Mr. Springer only gets charged with Telecommunications Harassment, which is a misdemeanor and gets fined $382. Here is an example of yet another successful coverup. What about the children? A person has violated them, and this is all that happens to the person?

This act was so egregious that a member of the Sheriff’s Office has risked their job to give us the lead on how bad this coverup was. How can the legal system in Mercer County be trusted when we see gimmicks to protect one of their own and rigged trials to persecute those that they select?

Citizens, please read these reports from the Sheriff’s Office. Some items are redacted. We know from our informant that 5 additional underage females made complaints about Mr. Springer to law enforcement! The evidence warranted the charge of gross sexual imposition which is a felony. Mr. Springer should be a registered sex offender in Mercer County. Instead, an arranged “slap on the wrist” was given.

It is time to put politics aside and for the officials to concentrate on what is best for the children of Mercer County. Young girls being targeted for this kind of behavior by an adult man is unacceptable!
