Management of the Bryson Trust Moved Away from Corrupt Mercer County

This weekend The Daily Standard ran an article complaining that local officials lost control of the management of the Bryson Trust (see article).

Let’s be perfectly honest about what happened. CountyCoverup.com, through a series of articles, exposed the plundering of the trust. Mike Boley (the CEO of Brightnet) got a sweet deal to rent land from the trust below market rates and Jeff Hazel has used the trust as a piggy bank to facilitate business to his coffee shop next to the park.

Jeff Hazel and The Daily Standard complaining that local control of the Bryson Trust has been lost is laughable. Could a gang of thieves exhibit greater corruption? The Bryson Trust had a very specific mission to benefit the children of Celina. But many adults have been putting their hands in the Bryson Trust cookie jar. It’s about time the oversight of the trust has been moved away from a corrupt county.

We have proven officials in Celina Police Department routinely destroy documents. We still have concerns about Mike Boley, through Brightnet, providing private information to Jeff Grey. And the corruption goes on and on. The Bryson Trust will serve its mission better by getting away from all of the local corruption.

Citizens, you can help the Bryson Trust have the positive impact it was meant to have on the children of Celina. Please join us in requesting First Financial Bank to allocate a minimum of $100,000 per year to the children of Celina (phone# 513-246-2100). In addition, ask that the management of the Bryson Trust be put out for competitive bid. Lastly, as a gesture of goodwill for getting a sweetheart deal on the land rental from the Bryson Trust, ask Mike Boley (phone# 800-988-1618)to make a meaningful financial contribution to the Children of Celina.
