Chris Summers Parents File Writ of Mandamus Complaint Against Fox & Grey in the Supreme Court of Ohio

Chris Summers mother and father sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for the interviews and other evidence in their son’s case to both Prosecutor Matt Fox and Sheriff Jeff Grey in February. Both flatly refused to release anything related to the case. Because of this unusual action, Mr. & Mrs. Summers had to hire an attorney and file a writ of mandamus complaint, against both of them, in the Supreme Court of Ohio. A writ of mandamus is an order from a court to an inferior government official ordering the government official to properly fulfill their official duties or correct an abuse of discretion. Had Matt Fox and Sheriff Jeff Grey done their jobs and not tried to hide documents and other evidence from Chris’s parents this would not have been necessary.

To make matters worse Matt Fox and Jeff Grey hired outside legal counsel to represent them in this case. Guess who gets to pay for that? You the citizens. So, these two government officials don’t do their job, try to hide evidence and you get the help pay for the cover-up by paying for their attorneys in the case. Does that seem right to you?

Furthermore, what is so damaging in the documents and evidence in the Chris Summers case that Fox and Grey would risk defying a legal FOIA request in order to hide it? And why did they have to run out and hire outside legal counsel to protect them? What did they do to Chris Summers during the trial that was so horrible to warrant these actions? Unfortunately, these types of shenanigans are par for the course in Mercer County. If you’ve been reading our articles, you’ll know that county officials destroying or “loosing” documents, lying and distorting the truth is commonplace.

Regarding the Chris Summers case, we have seen the documents that have been secured by the Summers family and they prove that the legal system was hell-bent on hanging Chris in spite of all the evidence. We recognize that Chris Summers is guilty but when county officials intentionally game the legal system, so it overly favors one person to the detriment of another, then the trail wasn’t fair. This is America and Chris Summers deserved a trial with all of the evidence being fairly provided so the complete truth could be seen by all. To railroad someone so that they get an unfair sentence is not how justice is supposed to work in America.

This debacle has the potential to cost you, the taxpayers, a ton of money. Not just in legal fees but in a subsequent lawsuit that could cost the county millions. It’s curious that a story this big is not being reported by the “mainstream media”. Why are we not hearing about this from WCSM, The Daily Standard or The Evening Leader? Maybe the citizen of Mercer County should call and asked them why.

  1. And Tin Badge Timmerman and Faux cop Fortkamp are the worst. But, then again, they were instructed by the dirtiest cop in America- Grey, the sheriff of Nottingham.
