Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate with friends and family and to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. As you look around Mercer County, it is evident that there is much to be thankful for. Mercer County is blessed with some remarkable families and individuals.

One thing that the residents of Mercer County should be excited about is new Tri Star education complex being constructed on State Route 703. The residents, with compassion and understanding of the value of education, have funded an opportunity for all children to get an incredible career-oriented education. What a real blessing for the region!

Tri Star Director Tim Buschur was gracious enough to provide us with the following highlights:

  1. Over 500 students are enrolled
  2. 90% of those trained stay in the region to live and work
  3. 60% of the students do receive additional postgraduate training
  4. 16 programs for the students to select from
  5. Over 95% stay in their career field

Mr. Buschur said, “For the future, we will continue to provide quality career technical education to provide a quality workforce to local companies. Students from Auglaize and Mercer Counties will be provided with the latest training to be prepared for the future workforce environment, including additional adult programming”.

We want to thank Mr. Buschur and his staff for the great job they are doing to provide an opportunity that is available to all of the youth in the area.

No county is perfect, but we would like to reflect on the things that are going right in Mercer County at this time of thanksgiving. We’re thankful for the many incredible families and individuals in Mercer County. We’re grateful for the opportunities that Tri Star will bring to our children and to businesses in the community. And we are incredibly thankful to you – our readers for spending time with us each week. You’re the reason we do this. We all want to make Mercer County the best place to live, work and play for our families.

Happy Thanksgiving!
