Officials Warned of an Affair Between a Teacher & a Student – Officials Do Nothing!

The Mercer County leadership, or lack thereof, time and again fails its most vulnerable citizens. Too often in this county, adult men are in inappropriate relationships with underage girls. These girls need protection from these often-manipulative men. But too often the protection is nowhere to be found.

We have had multiple reports of Jeff Grey and Matt Fox fumbling and bumbling tips and warnings about these types of inappropriate relationships.  But at other times Jeff and Matt seem to get a conscience and aggressively prosecute a perp for “robbing the cradle”. Why the selective prosecutions?

In the Chris Summers case, the young lady who was involved was a student (during the period of the inappropriate relationship she was between the ages of 17-19). We now have information from two individuals who, at the time, warned the Fort Recovery Schools and the prosecutor’s office that they needed to intercede in this developing affair. THE SCHOOLS AND THE COUNTY PROSECUTORS OFFICE DID NOTHING! We have a federal attorney from Detroit who is willing to take the young ladies case and file an action against the county and the Fort Recovery School District. This young lady had her rights violated by the very people who were supposed to be protecting her!

A situation that could have been stopped by the school and the county has turned into a mess. Chris Summers, the teacher, is guilty and is in jail for 20 years. The young woman is wearing a virtual scarlet letter. A portion of the county think she deserves more of the blame and another portion completely blames Chris Summers. The question that was never asked is despite the warnings why did the school and prosecutors office do nothing? Because of their gross negligence or staggering incompetence, two lives have been forever changed and irreparably damaged.
